Eagle Scout Project: The Kelley Glidewell Family Prayer Garden
Project Overview
For my Eagle Scout project, I transformed an overgrown lot at St. Angela Merici Church into a peaceful prayer garden for parishioners and families. With the help of fellow Scouts and friends, we cleared the area of unwanted vegetation and debris, installed decomposed granite pathways, set up an extensive drip irrigation system, planted trees and flowers, and added benches along with a statue of the Holy Family.
The garden is dedicated to Mrs. Kelley Glidewell, a beloved teacher at St. Angela Merici Parish School for 17 years, who passed away in December 2018. Through this experience, I developed valuable skills in project management, leadership, teamwork, and perseverance—while creating a lasting space for reflection and community.
